Before our final verdict, let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of the ViewSonic XG2401 and the ViewSonic XG2402.
ViewSonic XG2401
Pros:
- It is flicker-free so easier on the eyes
- It’s incredibly fast and smooth
- The adjusting of the stand is really helpful, especially when using two monitors

The Final Verdict
The ViewSonic XG2401 and the ViewSonic XG2402 are not what you would consider out of the box gaming monitors and they will require some setting up. If you don’t set them up correctly, you won’t notice any difference. For example, you need to make sure your computer is set for 144Hz and not 60Hz.
The design of the ViewSonic XG2401 and the ViewSonic XG2402 was perfect. We liked the size and felt that they could both be adjusted to suit different people’s preferences. ViewSonic XG2401 did have better viewing angles but that only makes a difference if you aren’t using the monitor face on.
It took a great deal of attention to compare the two gaming monitors while we were playing as they really are similar but both amazing. For anything less than professional gaming, both are highly recommended. If we had to mention a difference, it would be that we found the ViewSonic XG2401 just a fraction faster, while the ViewSonic XG2402 had better color contrasts. Over a longer period of time, the ViewSonic XG2401 caused less eyestrain, which was a big advantage.
Because of their similarities, our final decision came down to value for money. The ViewSonic XG2401 is around $60 cheaper (depending on the offers you can find at the time) and we felt that this was quite a big difference. With that in mind, we chose the ViewSonic XG2401 as today’s winner.
