The Final Verdict
A couple of things first. The maximum speeds and ranges will vary depending on the weight of the rider and the terrain, so bear this in mind. It is recommended to fully charge the battery for the best performance. Also, both the Segway MiniLite and the Segway MiniPro has a speed limit restriction in the beginning. You need the app to follow the tutorials and then the restrictions are lifted. This is a great safety feature but not much use if you don’t have a smartphone.
We were really pleased with some of the extra features of the Segway MiniPro. We liked the lights, it made riding at night much better. The anti-theft control is also a good bonus. If you are taller or weigh a little more, the Segway MiniPro is worth it.
On the other hand, the overall quality of the Segway MiniLite was superior, as was the reliability. It was equally easy to use and we were more than pleased with the power. We felt that for these reasons, and the fact that it was cheaper, the Segway MiniLite was the better buy.
