Pros:

  • It’s excellent value for money
  • It’s efficient with the use of ink
  • It has an energy saver feature so will sleep when not in use

Cons:

  • If you don’t fan your paper before loading it, you may get jams

The Final Verdict

It was a difficult choice, and obviously, if you want to send faxes, you would choose the Canon MX492, however, we felt that nowadays, most people would scan and email rather than fax, so we didn’t feel that the fax was an important issue.

The only advantage the Canon MX492 had over the Canon MG3620 was the auto-doc feeder. It would have been nice if the Canon MG3620 had this feature, but again, not enough to persuade us.

We chose the Canon MG3620. It’s a little bit cheaper, and the design is more sleek, overall making it more attractive. We liked that the prints were a little faster but more than anything, we liked the multiple options for connecting to the printer. We felt that the Canon MG3620 was a great little printer for home use.
